Review on Spring Water bottle

I bought a $90 water bottle ... Well actually I didn't it was a gift. But I'm now an owner of a $90 water bottle. Ridiculous I know but here's why it tracks your water intake and reminds you throughout the day to drink water. 

Henry is convinced that before this water bottle I was chronically dehydrated and he's probably right.  I would drink coffee but actual glasses of water were maybe 2 a day if that. But I am really trying to help out my fitness and overall health.  And if you've seen one article about the importance of drinking water you've seen 10.  I know it helps your skin, your weight, metabolism, ability to flush out toxins, and more. 

I was trying to drink more tea and get my water intake there,  but I really wasn't motivated so I thought this purchase was worth it. 

There is the Hidrate Spark out there which I think is more common and less expensive.  The main difference is the bottle lights up when you should be drinking more water.  Here is why I didn't buy that one:

1. I've heard of some people turning off the light because it was annoying and almost embarrassing in a public space (which sorta defeats the purpose).

2.  I saw bad reviews of shipping.  Those types of reviews always makes me a little skittish. 

3. It was plastic.  If I spending a lot of money on a bottle I want it with nice quality. 

I also just liked the design of the Spring a lot better and thought that it wouldn't be super noticeable that I bought this really expensive bottle to help me drink more water. One thing I like about the Hidrate a little better is that it syncs with your Fitbit App.

So is it worth it?

  • I drink way more water than I use to

  • I lost water weight

  • I find myself recognizing thirst rather than thinking I'm hungry

  • I'm eating less because I'm getting full with water

  • Im making an effort to drink more without noticing

  • The app helps me and has really cute motivational texts

Due to all that I do think its worth it.  It's a really nice product that works well and helps me in my fitness goals.  I think I needed something like this thats a visiual to really help me make a change. Here is the link to the product.

I gave up my phone for 2 hours a day

Dun Dun Dun, such a dramatic title right? Anyways, I started to give my phone up for two hours every night and I wanted to share some of my thoughts on it and why I started. 

Ps. I still went on my computer and things, but I was trying not to text or go on social media.  I sometimes still went on BlogLovin or Pinterest but it was for enjoyment.  Which I rarely do since usually Im researching for the blog.

Why I started:

1. I was wasting time - Honestly, it is insane the amount of time I just spend scrolling on my phone, not only that but scrolling through things I'd already seen.  I was always refreshing my social media to see if there was anything new.  And most of the time I wasn't it was just a big waste of time, where I really got nothing out of it in the end.  

2. I was procrastinating - I wasn't getting the things done I needed to because I had the really bad habit of checking all my social media before trying to do any work, and I went down rabbit holes REAL fast. 

3. I was comparing - I mean come on you can't help but go on social media and say oh I don't have that, look like that or am doing cool enough things. It's a terrible game we play with ourselves making us feel inadequate, lonely and puts us in a negative place. ** let's just take time to realize that usually, social media is highlight reels and not even real life

4. I was feeling lonely - Most of my friends live out of town and I'd see them going out doing cool things while I sat at home, and I felt left out constantly.

5. I was looking for something my phone couldn't give me - I feel like I kept going on my phone waiting for people to text me, to reach out, to feel connected.  But there's only so little you can do to feel connected to your phone unless you're actively talking to someone.

What I've learned:

1. You're not going to come back to a thousand texts of people saying how much they care - Sometimes I felt like in giving up my phone the whole world would know and reach out, that's not the case.  Everyone goes about their day as usual.  It felt like a disappointment and sting at first but then I got used to it and stopped expecting it and I think that made me feel a lot happier. 

2. I learned how much I grab my phone out of habit - Guys its sorta gross, sometimes the 2 hours I was just counting down and others it went by quickly.  And I find myself grabbing my phone less everywhere I go.

3. I found better things to do with my time - This left a lot of time for me to go work out, or read a book.  I also enjoyed shows more because I wasn't scrolling through my phone at the same time. All these things I wanted to do I suddenly had time to.

4. I enjoy social media more - I feel like I have a better perspective on it.  I compare less and know that I'm not ingesting real life.  I also go on Pinterest for fun, not just to work.

5. I feel less overwhelmed - I guess its true what they say about your phone stimulating you, I feel like my mind runs less and there are fewer notifications constantly bombarding me. 

6. Im having more quality time - Henry has started dropping his phone more too, noticing how much he's on it when Im not.  And we spend more time together focused and feels like a deeper conection.  I also try to not look at my phone when Im with my friends and I can tell they look at their phone less too.

7. Better thoughts -  I feel like stepping away allowed me to really have "better" thoughts that were more conducive and helpful rather than getting stuck in a rut or on loop.

Overall:

I really like it, don't get me wrong at first it was a challenge, even hard and sad at first.  But I have found after two weeks, I'm more productive, focused and quite frankly happier. It's pretty crazy a phone can do all that. I'm excited, I sorta just made up this challenge for myself because I knew I had bad habits and I wanted to see what happened.  I'm hoping to continue to do this so much that it doesn't even feel like a challenge and becomes my new healthy habit.

Bullet Journal - Update

Hey guys! So if you read my post in the past about "what is bullet journaling" then you would know I was trying to test it out for the past couple of months! From an Instagram poll I did, it seemed like a good amount of you wanted a follow up on how I was doing with it! 

At first, I was using a moleskin notebook which is super common.  For bullet journaling, and I LOVE the dot aspect of it, using the dots and the lines to keep things more interesting without even trying.  I also loved that everything was in one place, to-do list, my calendars, doodles, fitness goals and even journaling.  What I didn't like though is the journal its self.  I'm a person who needs a spiral notebook, I love tearing pages out, flipping through past entries and making my notebook smaller when I write rather than opening it up and having it be twice the size.  I've always liked spiral notebooks and I really don't like bound books.  So are first I thought bullet journaling just wasn't for me.  WRONG.  It is I just needed a different notebook, and then I got this!

OHH PRETTY - It's a dot notebook, that's cute and has a spiral.  You can find it here!  

Once I got the right journal I loved it.  The paper is thick and durable and perfect for bullet journaling.  

Some things I like about bullet journaling:

You can always change it - You can change your designs and if you hate something you don't have to do it again!

Creative - I love using different colors and just adding a little creativity to it and having fun

Try new things - There are sooo many designs floating out there, that I like trying all of them out! 

Organization - Everything is all in one spot so I can go back and check things I've jotted down.

Realixing - I still find it relaxing to write things down rather than put it all on a computer so I love it.

Overall once I got a journal that worked for me I loved it.  Its fun experimenting each week and trying out different things.  Some people plan their whole week out and do multiple pages at a time but since I'm still learning and trying out different things I go one day at a time.

January Fitness Haul

Hopefully you all are sticking to your new years resolutions so far! The end of 2017 was crazy for us with all the traveling so I knew that as soon as January came around I would want to hit the ground running with my fitness regimen.  Of course I want to get in shape for the wedding but I also just want to feel good in my skin and healthy. So I used Digit, and set a goal of saving $500 by the end of the year to buy all my fitness needs!

So today I'm sharing with you what worked and what didn't so you could check it out! PS I bought some of Tone It Up's new line so you can see the review here! 

Yoga Mat *Returned* - this mat was 3mm and even though it was cute that is way too thin for what I was looking for.  But it's good to know because now I know that Im looking for either a 5mm or 6mm mat.  This is the back up that I purchased! 

Sports Bra  - These are my favorite bras from Target, I love the style of them, they fit really well and keep everything in place.  Im not a big fan of padding in my sports bra (I dont need it) so these are perfect!

Lulu- Lemon Pants - This was one of my big splurges.  I loved the color and I knew these pants would be worth it because tehy would hold up for a long time. Although I thought the 7/8 would fit me nicely with being petite and they are far too long. To be honest the tag ripped off when I was trying them on so Im just going to keep them! 

Nikes *Returned* - I just didnt really like the color when it came in, thats all haha.

Tone it Up Review

Guys I tried out some of the products from the Tone it Up line, and Im sad to report, I didn't like the products.  Their line is very inexpensive but it shows and I was suppose bummed out about it. 

Jump Rope *Returned* - This jump was the worst, it broke several times while I was trying to use it.  And I kept screwing the piece back on but I knew it would never fully stay so I returned it.

Dumbbells- I kept the dumbbells but you can see the seam and it seems like they may easily split.  But I liked the color and the texture of it so I thought it would be worth it.

2nd Jump Rope - This is the back up I purchased, not as pretty but it works and I guess thats all that really matters

Shoe wise I got these asics because I get shin splits very easily and I know this brand is great for support.  but I have been so hesitant because I hated the colors usually.  So when I saw these colors I grabbed them as quick as I could! They are so comfy! Originally I was thinking about getting a running shoe and another shoe for more cross training and doing weights so I am still deciding on these Nikes.  What so you think!?

TOPS

I was thinking about going to althetica or Lulu Lemon for some shirts but they just seemed so overpriced and I like some of my items from Old Navy so I just looked there I loved what I saw.  I love the Long sleeves, especially with the open back for some breathing.  These Plain Tanks are super cute and I love the material they are made from.  Also they have the cutest Graphic Tank, for a reasonable price. 

More Returns

I tried out these long sleeves from Target, but they had too much of a boat neck and showed my bra straps and not in a flattering way I thought so I returned them.  I also tried tried out these sports bras but they are more like cloth material and don't give enough support I think. 

PS HAS ANYONE TRIED THE HIDRATE SPARK BOTTLE? Im VERY interested in this bottle and if it actually helps you drink more water or if it is annoying and not worth the money.  Just need a review some one help a girl out ha!

You'll never believe it but I haven't hit my $500 limit yet.  So is there something you'd recommend? I'd love to know!!

Reviews on Christmas Presents

So I know that Christmas was almost a month ago but I thought it might be fun for me to share with you some of the items I got and if I liked them or returned them! I had a random assortment thats for sure haha!

Alarm Clock - Have you heard about these sunrise alarm clock.  The deal is they are suppose to turn on about 30 minutes before you get up and get brighter until the time you get up, stimulating a sunrise.  I thought this would be perfect for the winter months and trying to get my lazy butt out of bed for early morning work outs.  But this clock just got bright at 30 minutes before, I honestly saw no gradual change and it just shined bright in my face 30 minutes before it needed to.  Also it felt impossible to work and took up so much space it just didn't feel worth it. 

Day Designer - I LOVE LOVE LOVE this planner and I loved how list focused it was, but Im an idiot because it goes from august- may I believe, and follows the school year.  So I already couldn't use half of it. So it got returned sadly. 

Computer Bag - I wanted this computer bag from the Hearth & Home collection but sadly it was for people with laptops that are 15" which mine is not.  Although Im not sure at the end of the day if I would have loved the material. 

Amelia's Mug - When we went to Nashville one of the top things I wanted to check out was Amelia's Flower Truck.  She has these old trucks that drive around to different places and you can buy flowers.  You can make your own bouquet or they can make it for you.  I had them make it since they know what they are doing and I loved it! So Henry bought me this mug to remember our fun time there! 

Phone Case - Casetify is my go to for phone cases, they have more designs than you could possibly imagine and they 

Wireless Charger - I got the iPhone 8 and Henry has this wireless charger, its a game changer.  Make life so easy and I can put my cords other places.  I highly recommend if you have a phone that can wirelessly charge! 

Love you Melon - Infinity Scarf and Headband.  Love your melon is awesome because they give back some of their profits to cancer patients and its just an awesome cause! I love their products they are well made but I will have to say they aren't the warmest thing I have.  For sure fashionable and for that reason I gravitate towards them.  But on really cold days, I need something else. 

KL nail polish bundle review

KL Polish had these really great bundles for an awesome price that was a stocking stuffer, sadly is didnt make the cut on my lists and I wanted to purchase them later for myself but they seem to have been taken off the site for some reason.  

So lets hope that she puts them back on sometime soon!
