Hi Friends! Recently I went on a quick 4 day trip to Florida to visit my parents. The warm weather was such a refreshing change from the dreary Ohio weather I am use to. When I was in Florida though I really made an effort to stay off my phone, especially social media and just focus on myself. Oh my gosh was it needed!
Its so easy to get wrapped up in social media, getting envious of other people and making up an idea in your head of how they live their life. Putting a lot of unnecessary pressure and sadness on yourself. I am usually one to check my Instagram and scroll until I get to where I left off last but not this time. I usually have FOMO (fear of missing out) wanting to know everything.
This is going to sound dumb but I took the pressure off myself of constantly checking, and I felt like a weight was lifted off myself. Don't get me wrong I know that social media is key for businesses and growing my blog, but that doesn't mean I have to be constantly checking.
I have decided after this trip I am going to try every night to set aside about an hour of time where I don't go on my phone at all. Whether I watch a show or make time to read a book, just having a little bit of space from my phone will do me good. I realized over the vacation how much I missed reading and the calming affect it has on me. So I think its important to make time for that rather than scrolling on my phone.
This is just a reminder that its okay to not always be reachable wit your phone and its important to unplug every once in a while and reconnect with yourself.
