Sephora & Ulta Haul Update

Recently I did a huge haul with Sephora and Ulta where I wrote about all the things I wanted to buy.  A few things worked and a few definitely didn't.  So here are my reviews!

Ps. I used Ebates to make these purchases and got money back.  You can too and get $10 immediately for signing up!

Skincare

Moisturizer (Night Time) - I got a smaller size and it was $12, not worth it or the price.  Its a nice moisturizer but I dont wake up and feel like my skin is so hydrated.  I wouldn't recommend.

Moisturizer (Day Time) - I do think this is a great moisturizer because its lightweight and soaks in so quickly.  It's great for my oily skin but Im not sure how hydrating it is.

Cleansing Sponge - I already had one of these but it's a little bit of a hassle to move it from my sink to my shower, so I love it SO much I got another.  Highly recommend, it deep cleans and it gentle.

Make up Remover Wipes - These were okay, I didnt feel like they got everything and it left a residue on my skin.  Good enough if you're in a pinch.

Spot Treatment - THIS BOTTLE IS TINY! I had no idea how small it would be.  I think it works great though and is lasting a lot longer than I expected.

Makeup

Primer - I love this stuff.  A little goes a long way though! I realize if I have more of a heavy hand it will ball up under my foundation or stick to my dry patches. But it does keep the oils at bay and thats all I can ask!

Foundation Option 1 - Hated it, I loved the sample but this oxidized on my skin a lot and did not help my oily skin.

Foundation Option 2 - I love this foundation, it looks awesome on my skin and helps my oily skin.  I try to sheer it out a little with a wet beauty blender so its not so thick.

Brow Pencil & Finishing Powder - Just restocked and still love these products so I was happy to have more on hand!

March Product Review

Hey guys! So I recently splurged at Ulta for some things I have been having my eye on.  I wanted to give you a review and let you know my thoughts.  Like the Glam Glow Mask ... is it really worth $69?! Read on my friends!

Be sure to use Ebates, to get some money back on your online purchases!! You'll get $10 automatically!

Origins Face Mask - I usually get mask for acne and drawing out impurities but I have had such dry skin recently and I had someone tell me that getting things for sensitive skin rather than acne would help my skin more.  I had heard really great reviews on this mask so I thought I'd give it a try.  I love this mask! It has 2 cons in my mind, 1 the smell, its pretty strong, I think its suppose to be eucalyptus. 2 Its pretty hard to get off, I have to use a wash cloth, hands don't do it and its still tricky.  My skin is so soft after though and I think it helps to calm my face down a lot and I didnt break out from it!

Benefit Hoola - Okay so I get what all the hype is about.  This stuff is so blend able, this is the first bronzer I feel like I can actually use to contour without looking orange.  It does have more of an orange undertone than ash, so it can be orange if you use too much.  I just love how well it blends.  I do hate the packaging though, the brush isn't great and its hard to get my brush in there.

March favorite products beauty skin care

Yes Micellar Water - I had been hearing a lot about micellar water, how it just adheres to your makeup taking it off.  I really liked this stuff at first, it feels like water which is nice because it takes off a ton of makeup and you don't have residue left over.  How ever if you do use too much it does become soapy.  I got this one since my skin is sensitive but it isn't powerful enough to really get off mascara or anything like that.  Its nice and hydrating but you have to wash your face after this isn't enough!

NYX Blush - This blush looks VERY orangey I will admit.  But Im so glad I gave it a chance.  I love this color it is super natural and give me a nice glow. It's build able which I find really nice in blush so that you can add however much you want.  I hate when you try blush and one swipe you're like WOO I look like a clown.  I love this line and I want to try out more of NYX blushes!

Glam Glow- This stuff is cool I have to admit, and it leaves your skin so soft.  But I never really saw a difference in my skin.  I liked the origins mask a lot more.  I didnt see an improvement in my acne, I think all it did was draw out some oil which quickly came back.  Not worth the price tag especially with how little product you get.  Thankfully I used a gift card on this!

Physician's Formula Bronzer - I had heard really great things about this bronzer in the Youtube Community, especially by people with fair skin so I had to try.  Again I find it really natural and build able which I love! PSA this seems like straight up pina colada's, which I absolutely HATE.  If you like its then you'll love it.  But I like this bronzer enough to look past the smell.

If you haven't read my post comparing pallets, then you would have no idea how much I love this pallet.  It's extremely pigmented and blend able.  I love it so much. Im a huge fan of cool toned eye shadows and I feel like I can never find them all together.  Seriously I love this pallet, it had everything; transition colors, mattes, shimmers and pop's of color! What more could you need?!

Skin Care for the Winter

Anyone else struggling to keep their skin from freaking out in the winter? I know I am! I have super oily skin like oil slick skin but I've can tell recently that my skin is even more out of wack than usual.  So I did a lot of research and testing things out so I could give some recommendations of things that may help you! (Remember I am not a doctor/ dermatologist / esthetician /ect.)

REMEMBER WHEN SHOPPING: Use Ebates for cash back and coupons! Honey is a great back up when Ebates doesn't work on the site.

Here are some Do's and Don't

Do:

I love this water bottle to get lemon water which helps your skin also!

I love this water bottle to get lemon water which helps your skin also!

Hydrate - With drinking TONS of water, more than usual.  You're skin is drier due to the lack of moisture in the air so we need to bring some of that back!

Also moisturizing you're skin.  Even if you are oily like me, still moisturize! This actually helps to balance your skin a little bit more and it should stop producing some much oil so it isn't compensating. I like to use a heavier moisturizer at night to replenish my skin.  This is what Im currently using.  I had an esthetician tell me that even though Im acne prone I really should be using things that are for sensitive skin.  Ive also been going organic with some of my products and I think thats really helping.

Exfoliate - Exfoliating with help to not get clogged pores and clear off all the dead skin, here are a few of the products I've liked!

Lip Balm- Because you're lips get dry too.  (Another sign you're not hydrated enough). PRO TIP: You can use a dry toothbrush to exfoliate your lips!

Oil Cleaners- I like oil cleaners to take off my makeup since they are a little bit more hydrating and don't strip your skin of all natural oils making it drier.

SPF - Yes! SPF is still needed in the winter time because the sun is still strong and you want to protect your skin.

Moisturizer Jars- If your skin is dry all over, find a moisturizer that is in a jar, anything with a pump is water or alcohol based.

Honey Mask- Honey Mask are my new favorite thing! Honey helps to moisturize your skin and is  antibacterial, which helps fight acne.

Don't's:

Over Exfoliate - Your skin will hate this, just a few times a week should be all that you need! Depending on your skin it can become aggravated and either drier or more oil with too much exfoliating.

Skin care for the winter dry skin bronzed look

SPF at night- Be careful that your night time moisturizer doesn't have SPF, it will clog you pores.

Laundry Sheets - If you have dry skin, or eczema, dryer sheets will aggravate you and make you itchy.

Some Products I like for the winter:

First Aid Moisturizer, Wet Skin in Shower, Bronzer to make me a little bit more sunkissed, along with highlight

What are your must have for winter time?

Brands I'm Loving: Peter Thomas Roth

Hey Guys! So I have posted here before that I have a lot of skin struggles with oily skin and cystic acne. And I have finally found some products that have REALLY helped my skin out. I have noticed less break outs and decreased time for it to heal.  My new two holy grail products are the Max Complexion Correction Pads and Acne-Clear Invisible Dots.

REMEMBER WHEN SHOPPING: Use Ebates for cash back and coupons! Honey is a great back up when Ebates doesn't work on the site.

The pad's have helped clear up blackheads, bring some white heads to the surface and help to prevent more cystic acne I believe. There is a little peeling around some of the acne when using but Im happy its drying it out and I just switch to every other day if that happens and the peeling stops really quickly. Also I read a tip online to cut the pads in half and I would highly recommend. There is plenty of product on half a pad and this way it last twice as long. I also use it on my chest for acne and it cleared it in like two days!

I also love these dots.  I have been eyeing them for a long time and I thought what a stupid idea a sticker to help clear my acne.  BUT it has helped a ton.  I have a big break out recently and in a few days it helped my cystic acne almost go half in size which is a huge deal because usually it takes a month.  I still have one spot that I can't seem to get rid of completely but it helped in size.  I also LOVE this product because you can stick it on and not worry about it.  I usually do it before bed and I don't have to worry about it rubbing off or staining my bedding.

This mask I really like for hydration since some of the products can be a little drying!

These products are a little pricey but I would highly recommend if you struggle with acne.  They last a really long time and do their job! I also want to try the mask and cleanser.

I would recommend trying this kit so you get samples of everything!

Favorite Oily Skin Products

Hi Friends, I hope that you are having a fabulous week! I wanted to expand upon some of my favorite products that I have found for Oily Skin that isn't just primers like my last post, which you can find here!

REMEMBER WHEN SHOPPING: Use Ebates for cash back and coupons! Honey is a great back up when Ebates doesn't work on the site.

One // Two // Three // Four // Five // Six

Most of these are drug store options and I love them all for different reasons.

Powders: The NYX mineral is great to set your make up.  I love the feel it gives my skin, very silky.  It helps to set everything and stay matte.  Although I have found myself staying matter longer with the Rimmel.  The only thing I wish about the power is they had a no color one.  I am currently using "translucent" even though it is more for people with fair skin.  I used to mix bother but I find myself skipping the NYX sometimes and just using Rimmel!

Setting Spays:  Just a disclaimer, I have not used the NYX one yet, but I have heard nothing but great reviews and Im dying to try it.  Im also hoping it is a cheaper alternative to the Urban Decay.  Have to be honest at first I didn't get the hype about the Urban Decay one, and then I realized you have to spray a good amount! And then I really saw a difference in my makeup, it didn't break up nearly as fast and I could go all day with out touching up.  The Elf one is not a matte spray, but I like it for when I put powder on over my make up it helps to settle everything and blend a lot better.  It also just helps to re-hydrate the skin so it doesn't get as oily as fast!

Moisturizer:  I have never found a moisturizer that I like better than Clinque's.  I love that it is a gel formula so I feel like I am getting hydrated without it being heavy.  It also soaks into my skin really quickly.

What are you favorite products right now? Dont forget to shop with Ebates each of these link qualify!
