How to use : Ebates

I know that I share with you guys most blog posts about how I use Ebates all the time! I’ve noticed that some of you have signed up but haven’t used it yet so I wanted to give some background on the site, how I use it and what I’ve made!

What is Ebates?

If you didn’t know, Ebates is a site that helps you to earn a small percentages back of your purchase.  The percentages change, sometimes they are 1% or sometimes I’ve seen up to 14% back. Now this isn’t for every online website but it is for a lot! For example it works with; Amazon, Kohls, Groupon, Forever 21, Target, Sephora & lots more!

You get either $10 to your Ebates account or a $10 gift card to a certain store when you sign up, right now their promo is for walmart.

Bonus Money Saver

Ebates has also started collecting coupons too, so before you check out online you can use Ebates to see if there are any promotions going on and get cash back on top of that! I’m all about that.

I switch between Honey and Ebates for coupons, but Ebates pretty much covers it all.

How Do you use it?

To use Ebates, you just go to Ebates website first, find a store and then shop as normal!

I have added a chrome extension.  So it blinks everytime Im shopping at a store that has Ebates.  This is the easiest way and I just click on it.

When do I get my money!

Ebates sends out money quarterly.  So you just check a check in the mail if your account total is more than $5.

Here is the schedule:

How to save money this Holiday!

Raise your hand if you love saving money! Seriously, the analytical part of my LOVES saving money so much.  Sometimes it is a little crazy, but if you are looking for ways to save some money look no further! I have posted about some of these things, here and there before but I wanted to make sure they were all in one spot.

Step One - Set a Budget.  I think this is one of the harder but neseccary parts of the holidays.  It's really easy to see things and be like "OH MY GOD ITS PERFECT (Who CARES about price)" but if you do that for every friend it adds up really quickly.  So I would make a quick note of all the people you want to buy something for and write down a budget for each. Most IMPORTANTLY write the total of that.  Its easy to be like oh 20 here, 30 there, 50 for this person and then you're like OH Im planning on spending 500 on friends. I use Mint to budget for all my needs and the holidays!

Sign up for Ebates - Im not sure why Ebates does this but it give you money back on some of your purchases varying from 1-10%.  They will automatically give you $10 just for signing up!! My mom earned back $120 last year ... I'll let that sink in.

Ebates Coupons and Cash Back

All you have to do is "activate" Ebates on a site and it will give you cash back for your purchase.  I have the chrome extension to make my life easier but Im so excited to get a little extra money back after all the holiday spending!

Get coupons from Honey - This site is great! It also can be an extension in chrome.  How it works is it searches the internet for any coupon codes it can find, it then one by one applies to coupons and find the one which gives you the most savings! It is a little time consuming but WORTH IT.  Let me tell you I have saved so much! They also offer some cash back on sites they can't find coupons for but it isn't as much of a return as Ebates.  You can also use them both at the same time!

Wait for Sales & Free Shipping - Around this thing of year I feel like you should never pay for anything that is full price since there are always sales.  So I would say be patient and wait or ever look else where.

Digit - Digit is an app that saves money for you with out even noticing taking $5 here and $10 there.  This helps me to feel like even though I'm spending so much I am also still saving!

Make gifts yourself - I feel like gifts or letters that are from the heart are always worth more.  There are usually crafts you can get for inexpensive and just take the time to give a thoughtful gift this year.  Sometime that's more appreciated than a gift card or something!

Also sell some of you items! Since you will be getting new things, this year I am doing some more "spring cleaning" in the winter time!  (Here's my post on how to purge your closet) There are plenty of places to get rid of clothes, Plato's closet is my favorite but I usually go to about 2 stores to try to get more money.  I have tried ThredUp, you can see my review here.  But it wasn't my favorite although I like that they donate to charity.

On of my favorite places to donate is H&M.  They take everything! I mean like even socks with holes in them and you get a 15% off your next purchase.  You can learn more about their program here!

What are your tips for saving money this holiday season! I'd love to learn more!!

Bark Box Review

Hi Guys! I hope you're having a great week so far! I wanted to give you a review of Bark Box because I recently purchased it for my dog (she lives in Florida with my parents).  I have a coupon for a free box for you to try out if you want to! You can also get money off with Ebates! Its such a steal.

If you follow my Instagram at all you may know she had to get surgery last week because we found a tumor on her tail that covered 40% of her tail.  The vet said that there was no way to just remove the tumor and her whole tail would have to be amputated.  I felt desperate from so far away, so I thought bark box would be the perfect thing for her when she came home for recovery!

Update: She had a few other lumps and bumps removed and NONE of them were cancerous!! I am so grateful, I have no words!

The bark box has been such a blessing for her though and has made her so happy in her recovery! You can select the size of your dog and the type of plan you want.  I did monthly but you can cancel at any point! Also all the treats are natural.

Here's what she received! It was a Halloween themed box by the way!

  • A Pumpkin Toy she can whip around
  • A squeaky book of spells toy
  • A squeaky squirrel grave toy
  • Green Bark Gummies
  • Chicken Treats
  • A Stick called Buffy Chew
  • A sign saying you give out dog treats for halloween

Here is the coupon again for a free box, and I know that they also have another deal that your first box is $5.  There are so many deals and its an easy way to get your treats and toys for the month pretty inexpensively! I'm thankful my mom facetimed during her unboxing and that she is doing okay!

Heres some photos of Maddie, my 12 year old Golden!

More Ways to Save Money

A while back I wrote a post about how to save money in your 20's, which its really for any age really! But I have since found even more ways.  I really love saving money guys. Some are repeats but these are my tried and true ways!

1. Digit - This is an app where it uses your bank account, studies it, and will pull money every couple days. The algorithm is meant to take money that you really wont even know has gone missing a $10 here, $5 there and it really adds up.  I have been using it for about 2 weeks and have already saved $160.  You can withdraw the money at any time and save a lot or a little!

2. Ebates - This is another really awesome one because you can get cash back for SO many sites and you get a check every 3 months. You can get $10 just for signing up! Its a little thing, but for big purchases, or around the holidays it racks up quickly.  And you often get a gift card when you sign up!

** Here's one more way to save money.  Honey, a chrome extension that will surf the web for coupons and find the one that saves you the most money.  I can't tell you how much money this has saved me!

3. Ibotta - Is a way to save money for groceries where you take a picture of your receipt and the item for certain things.  It can be time consuming but its an easy way to get a gift card to many places! If you sign up using that link you will get $10 right off the bat

4. Coupons - This may sound silly but I have the Kroger app on my phone and I go through about once a week and just add a ton of coupons onto my loyalty card (so theres no printing or leaving them at home) and I save a couple dollars every trip which adds up.

5. More Grocery Trips - I know this sounds counter-intuitive but I find that often I don't eat or prepare my food in enough time if I just buy a ton once a week.  Usually I buy too much, my food goes bad and I just buy food to replace it.  Or I feel like Im running out of something and replace it too quickly. If I go twice a week I buy less, my food doesn't go bad as quick and I save money! Another tip is to go to the store with a list, and not hungry.  If I don't go with a list Im often buying things I don't need!

6. Return Items - I know this seems silly too but I often find I buy things, feel meh about them when I get home but I don't return them.  Then I am just wasting money. Girls with makeup go shopping at Ulta or Sephora they are really good about returns even if you use something a few times and it doesn't work out.  This si where I have lost the most with money.

7. Wait for sales or free shipping -  I love boutiques so sometimes I buy things that I need to return and not only have a paid for shipping once but now twice.  Waiting on some of these items can really cut back a few dollars over time.

These are some of my favorite ways that I use on a daily basis!  What are some of your favorite ways to save money?

June Favorites

Happy July! I hope you guys have enjoyed the new wallpapers this month! I wanted to share with you some of my favorite things this month and want to hear all about your favorites!

REMEMBER WHEN SHOPPING: Use Ebates for cash back and coupons! Honey is a great back up when Ebates doesn't work on the site.

june monthly skin care favorites make up

I have refound my love for cooking this month, and I recently picked up this Real Simple to get some new ideas and have some healthy yet simple recipes.

Kirkland Signature Milk Chocolate Roasted Almonds 3 LBS (48 Oz) JAR - Dark Chocolate to be exact.  They are amazing and have protein as well so that I can have them as dessert but not over indulge (which is hard).
Exotic Pink Salts Himalayan Salt Lamp, 1 Pound - I have heard so many health benefits but part of it is a placebo to me I know I just feel better when I turn it on.  You can get a really large 11 point salt lamp but I went for a small one pound one and I'm so happy about it! Any one else have one?

Sunglasses - This was an impulse buy from urban outfitters and I love them.  They frame my face so nicely and are see through.  Not bad for $14

Peter Thomas Roth - These pads have done WONDERS for my cystic acne skin and dark spots.  I think Im going to write a whole post about it!

E3 Morphe Tapered Face Brush - Which has sadly been discontinued but I love this for blush and brush and I'm sure when they launch the new Elite collection there will be one just like this!

Lastly, Wisp from Colourpop - So inexpensive for a lot of product.  I like applying with a brush because Im not a highlighter expert and this gives me a more blended highlight.  Its more subtle and I like this gold for the summer time.

What have been your favorites from June or this summer?
