5 Minute Summer Makeup

Of course now that we are half way through summer I have nailed down my 5 minute bronze summer makeup look and I want to share with you all my favorite products! Tell me below what products you love for en effortless summer look, I want to try out some new products!

Of course I start off with a moisturized base, I love this gel moisturizer to keep me hydrated in the summer but not make my oily.  Its super light weight and absorbs really quickly.  Then I have been liking the BB cream.  Something super light (when my skin is cooperating) but gives me enough coverage to get an even base.

For bronzer, I have been loving too face chocolate bronzer.  I like that it smells like chocolate and gives me a really nice warmth to the face without being to orange-y.  I know that there are other chocolates in the line for different skin tones too!

This Ulta blush I really like for the summer time because it has a lot of shimmer in it.  It just gives you this glow without being overwhelming and its a pretty peachy pink.  Perfect for the summer.

I usually don't do too much with my eyes, I like just adding a little bit of definition so I will add a taupe color to my crease or sometimes even just my bronzer! If Im feeling fancy I like adding a shimmery cooper or gold.  I think Glisten by Anastasia is just gorgeous, its pigmented but still gives off this "Im not trying hard" vibe.  If you know what I mean.

Lastly, I finish off with Tarte Mascara, I like that it gives me a lot of fluff to my eyelashes, but Im still looking for a good mascara that gives me a lot of volume and makes my lashes look fluffy.  If you have a recommendation let me know in the comments!

Lastly, I like to finish off with a gloss! It just helps to hydrate my lips, I feel like they get so dry in the summer with the hot air.  And I just like something that adds a little pink to my lips but isn't crazy pigmented.  I like this ulta formula, now it doesn't stay on like all day but Ill take it for a five minute routine!

Sometimes I do the All-Nighter setting spray.  I do feel like it helps to keep everything in place when Im in a hurry.  I also found this Coola setting spray that has sunscreen in it.  Now I haven't tried it so Im not going to recommend it but I thought it was a really cool concept because skin care is important especially if you're going to be out in the sun all day but the review seem hit or miss.  So let me know if you've tried it!

I had a sample of just their regular sunscreen and I liked that!

Tell me what are you tricks to get out the door but still have a glow!

KL Polish Review #2

So I have always loved following makeup YouTubers and although I have been following them a little less lately one I really liked was Kathleen Lights and she came out with a nail polish last year, its called KL Polish. I bought two colors last year called Coconut Milk and Hug n Roll.  The nail polishes I received were shattered but I was quickly sent a replacement! Something I don't blame them but the post office.  I really liked the formula, packaging, and colors so I thought I'd give it another try.

So here are the colors I purchased; Graham, Pinky, Dreamboy and Miss Honey.

My initial thoughts: Well you know me I got all these nail polishes and put them all on one hand immediately.  And putting them all next to each other wasn't the prettiest thing I could have done.

At least I LOVED Pinky.  I am looking for a subdued pink for my wedding and I think this may be perfect.  Dreamboy is a perfect spring/summer color and a lot different than Hug n Roll.  It changes based on what its compared to and can look more blue or more purple.  I love the versatitiy.

I wasn't so certain on Graham, I was looking for a gray and KL polish has a few, I thought this one would be perfect for my lighter skin tone.  I am currently wearing it and I love it.  It was just compared with all the other colors I wasn't certain.  Its a perfect grey without being overpowering.

I wasn't sure about Miss Honey, it looked a lot more terracotta than I was expecting.  I think it because my skin is so pale right now that I will be stunning with more of tan.

Here are photos I got from their website on different skin tones so you can see.

Overall: I still love the nail polish.  The packaging is great,  I will say my dream boy wand is missing a few bristles but I'm working with customer service now to get it fixed. UPDATE: They wont give me a replacement because they cant see damage to the wand even though it is missing bristles. Im bummed because its hard to use but still useable.

The formula is great, its made without a lot of toxins which is of course awesome.  And last for a really long time without chipping and I use no base or top coat!

I'd recommend thin layers like the website says but its very buildable.  I really like this nail polish and highly recommend it, just wish it were in stores!

So do you have your eyes on any of the colors?

This post is not sponsor, all thoughts are my own and products were purchased.

Engagement Photos

Hey everyone! Since our save the dates just went out I want to share some of our engagement photos with you! And to tell you how I choose our outfits.  This took way more time and I would like to admit but I also feel like our pictures came out well because of it.  I love fall and I wanted to get outfits that went well with fall leaves but we felt comfortable in as well.

I knew I wanted the traditional two outfits, one casual and one more dressy.  I have seen a lot of friends go for more flowy dresses but with my body type that just doesn't work.  I wanted a more structured dress and so I got this one from lulus!

I got the advice that we should try to dress in the colors that would be our wedding colors because it would look so nice on our website.  That turned out to be a lot harder than expected so I just did the colors. The other piece of advice I got was to mix textures, so Henry had a plaid shirt and I went a little plainer.

I got my outfit first and then Henry's because I thought that may be easier.  (I was sorta wrong but it did all workout :) ) That is my piece of advice since I think its harder for women sometimes to feel more comfortable in their outfits.

That's my #1 tip is get something that you feel comfortable in because it shows in photos.  I did like the idea of a skirt but I knew that I would constantly be adjusting and worrying.

Our amazing photographer is David Stephen, be sure to check him out

Ps. I used Minted for our Save the Dates and I LOVED how they turned out!
